My feelings have dominated a great deal of the decisions I’ve made in my life. I’ve determined my victory over rough circumstances by how I FEEL. There are times I’ve based my self worth on how I FEEL. The amount of time I’ve spent with God was based on how FEEL or if I felt like doing so. Many of my compulsive decisions or gratifying of my flesh, were based on a feeling. I FEEL like scrolling through my social media accounts rather being productive right now. I FEEL like calling this “somebody” I have no business talking to anymore. I FEEL like reacting to this coworker with a bad attitude today. I FEEL like getting another 30minutes of sleep rather than getting up, praying or reading the Word. I didn’t feel like going to work this morning, but had I made a decision based on that feeling, I could end up jobless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Think about it. How much would we get accomplished, in the spiritual and physical if we pushed past our feelings and did the things we know we need to do, when we need to do it? How much would our faith grow if we pushed past our feelings of discouragement and believed what God says about our victory & value? Feelings are temporal and heavily driven by circumstance, not truth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Join me this week in praying to seize every opportunity to overcome feelings. Whether fatigue, discouragement or temptation, our feelings will not control our choices. In Jesus name! #PurposeDaily #CoffeandInspiration
I pray this inspired you.
